As the name , we could see a wind turbine slip  ring is a slip ring for wind turbine application! As the wind energy industry has grown over the last decade, so has turbine slip ring technology.
 Although these devices are small, their importance should not be undervalued. Wind turbines require reliable transmission of power and data signals from the nacelle to the control system for the rotary blades, and this is where slip rings come into play.
In a turbine, the electrical connection to the rotor is made by connections to the brushes.

This is accomplished by either:
 1.Holding the center core stationary while a slip ring's brushes and housing rotate around it.
 2.Holding the brushes and housing stationary while the center core is allowed to rotate. system operation and eliminate damage-prone wires dangling from movable joints.

 Wind turbine slip ring is necessary for wind energy, this slip ring can transfer power and signal, also can add control system, but the maintenance cost is very high, so development a high performance slip ring is essential. The most critical time to perform reliability tests on slip-ring assemblies is before they leave the factory. This is especially true when it is not feasible to perform a complete testing procedure on a product once installed up-tower. Analysis should consist of at least three tests: isolation, continuity, and high-voltage potential test for power circuits.
